Registered Behavior Technician

The Registered Behavior Technician works under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. The RBT provides high-quality behavioral intervention services to individuals with developmental disabilities, primarily Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The RBT is responsible for implementing individualized treatment plans designed to increase communication, social skills, and adaptive behaviors while reducing challenging behaviors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized behavior intervention plans developed by the BCBA.
  • Provide one-on-one ABA therapy in classroom or treatment room setting.
  • Collect and record data on client progress using approved methods and software.
  • Follow ethical and professional guidelines established by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Utilize reinforcement strategies to encourage positive behavior and skill development.
  • Assist in conducting functional behavior assessments and skill assessments under the guidance of the BCBA.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development.
  • Provide training and support to paraprofessionals on positive behavior techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of sessions and client progress using deTASO.
  • Adhere to company policies, HIPAA regulations, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Responsible for creating treatment aids as recommended by the BCBA.
  • Must work cooperatively with the treatment team and therapists to ensure the child is receiving all needed therapies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Must pass the RBT exam within six months RBT application submission.
  • Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder preferred.
  • Physical and emotional ability to work with clients of various ages and abilities, including lifting, bending, and engaging in active play.
  • Must pass a criminal and maltreatment background check and comply with state and federal regulations.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.

Continuing Education & Training

  • Must complete ongoing training and professional development as required by the BACB to maintain RBT certification.
  • Must complete ongoing Spark Community training and all professional development.
  • Participate in periodic competency assessments and refresher courses.
  • Engage in recommended training on new ABA methodologies and intervention techniques.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and ethical guidelines.
  • Attend workshops, webinars, and conferences as needed to enhance professional skills.

Salary: Training pay is $11/hour. After the first 30 days, pay increases to $13/hour and once you are certified, your pay increases to $16.50
