Lead Infant/Toddler Classroom Teacher

Purpose Statement: To establish and maintain a healthy, happy, and productive classroom environment for all children.

  • Manage all aspects of the classroom
  • Assess each EIDT child in his/her classroom using proper assessment tools
  • With Directors, review and make suggestions of each child’s Individualized Treatment plan
  • Ensure that the ITP is implemented to maximize the treatment of children served
  • Prepare each child academically according to developmentally appropriate practice and curriculum
  • Correspond weekly with parents and caregivers
  • Keep meticulous and timely records/case notes in deTASO
  • Keep daily record of issues per child as needed
  • Maintain classroom supplies
  • Ensure that visual supervision of the children is always maintained
  • Ensure a positive emotional climate for the children by showing respect to children and adults through a willingness to help others, by maintaining harmonious and respectful interpersonal relationships
  • Use appropriate and approved discipline techniques and language
  • Maintain an environment conducive to preventive discipline
  • Speak in a well-modulated, pleasant and caring voice to children, caregivers, and staff
  • Represent the Community School publicly in a positive way
  • Ensure that a clean, safe, healthy and sanitary learning environment is maintained and that children are kept clean, clothing is changed when needed, and toys and other materials are disinfected each day
  • During periods of physical activity, ensures that active involvement is maintained with children to promote gross and fine motor development
  • Immediately report any information regarding health and safety concerns to Center Director, Executive Director, or Assistant Director
  • Complete required hours of relevant and approved in-service trainings per fiscal year
  • Is familiar with the company’s policies, procedures and guidelines, as well as those requirements set forth by regulatory agencies, including EIDT, Child Care Licensing, and the Department of Health
  • Display concern for the rights of children and families served by the center
  • Work from a place of empathy and respect, treating staff, children and parents with dignity always
  • Report for work dressed appropriately and complies with company policies regarding dress code and appearance
  • Ensure of confidentiality children and employee information. Responds to internal and external requests far information according to school policy
  • Attend professional development trainings
  • May be asked to perform other duties including housekeeping
  • Enrollment in CDA program within 1 year of employment (preferred)
  • RBT Training to be provided

Reports to: EIDT Center Director, Assistant Director, Executive Director

Salary: Up to $16 per hour

Hours:  M-F 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (Schedule subject to planning period day).

– Your school-aged children may be present from 3:25-4:30 p.m.
– Your children may attend daycare for a minimal fee, or apply for voucher for free daycare.

Days of the Year: 210 plus scheduled Professional Development (30-60 hours annually)
