Direct Support Professional for Adults with Disabilities

Are you passionate about helping others lead more independent and fulfilling lives? Spark Community is seeking compassionate and dedicated direct support professionals (DSPs) to join our team. Our DSP team supports individuals with physical, developmental, and intellectual disabilities. As a direct support professional, you will play a vital role in the lives of the individuals we support.

Your primary responsibility is to assist individuals in achieving their personal goals while promoting independence, inclusion, and overall well-being. This includes providing personalized training, support, and assistance with daily living skills, while fostering a safe and enriching environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist people who need support to lead self-directed lives and participate fully in their communities.
  • Aide in daily living; errands, appointments, cooking, and self-care
  • Facilitate activities that promote emotional and physical well-being
  • Impart knowledge and guide decision making
  • Respect privacy
  • Provide self-directed education and keep accurate case notes
  • Working with Adult Education Director, ensures that person(s) meet goals and objectives
  • Provide quality services
  • Advocate for people and help them to feel valued
  • Empower individuals with disabilities
  • Provide consistent positive interaction with the person(s) supported
  • Facilitate meaningful relationships
  • Promote integration and inclusion
  • Help make informed decisions and everyday choices about well-being

Compensation: $11-15 per hour

Schedule: Full-time, 12-hour shift, must work weekends and overnights; four open positions available
